Creating with Di Garling

Hi ,

Just popping in quickly to share a couple of pages that i did using the Scrapbook Diaries kits. I just love Di Garling and so was very excited when she started creating kits for them. Joanne from Embellish It in Timaru has been wonderful at ordering these in for me and a few friends. If you are interested please get in touch with Joanne and she will do her best to get the kits that you would like- she usually gets all the Gabrielle Pollacco ones as they are always popular!

Anyway these are the beautiful pages that i made from the kit. The first designed by Di Garling and the second by Janene from Scrapbook diaries...

and a close up - lots of lovely chipboard and flowers

And the second layout from the kit...

Hello again!

Hi Everyone,

Can't believe it has been almost a year since i have blogged! I have been scrapping but mostly only at retreats and on Wednesday nights when i catch up with my scrap buddies and we try to keep up with our project life!

We all love Project Life but do find that it is rare to scrap a layout these days as it does tend to take over all your available scrap time! With thsi  in mind one Wednesday night i decided to do a twist of my own and create a couple of quick pages using project life cards. I had seen an article in one of the scrap magazines and thought what a great idea!

Here are my efforts- different style for me but am loving all the gold accents which are all the rage at the moment!

This one features me for a change!

And this one my girly cat who i just love!

Sorry am a bit out of practice with blogging and cropping but will do better next time!

Have some beautiful layouts from a Di Garling kit to share....

Just wanted to say how proud i am of Ella this week ( well always but especially this week!)

We were invited to see her receive her Trusted Kid badge at a celebration assembly at South Hornby School. This is a big deal! They have to do a whole booklet of activities and get it signed off by their teacher. They also have to get their fellow students to sign off as well that they think they have completed everything to a high enough standard! They then have to do a presentation to the teachers in the syndicate as to why they should receive the badge and what they have done.

So proud of Ella- she is the first person in her year 5 class to receive the badge as usually they receive it in year 6. Ella is such a quiet achiever and so i am proud that she has worked so hard and that she has been recognised by her fellow students and the teachers! Well done Ella- you are awesome!

Simon and i took time off work to make sure we  could be there and Nana came along too to support Ella- she was stoked and was grinning ear to ear!

Ella's teacher pinning on the badge!

Well done Ella! You are awesome!

And here is a layout that i did for Ella at the retreat back in May- yes io know i am so slack at posting!

This is a scraplift from Julie Winks who i just love - she has  such a beautiful mixed media style- check out her blog and her work in Scrapbook Ideas magazine - where this layout was featured.

This was sooo much fun to create - lots of gesso - texture paste, washi tape, plasterers tape, stamps and rubons , chipboard, muslin glimmermist and title on the cameo! LOVE how it came out!

and some close ups

another close up

beautiful Ella!

Would love to know what you think! Leave me some love!

Some Primaliciousness

Hi folks,

Just wanted to share one of my favourite layouts that i have done using the Stationers Desk from Prima. This has to be one of my alltime favourite collections from Prima- love all the black and red. This layout was inspired by one i saw online.

This one features DD #3- Lucy - who can be the sweetest little thing- always the first to give me a cuddle in the morning and who runs out to give me another cuddle when i have to leave to go somewhere- chasing me down the driveway!!-and who gets upset when both Simon and i go out each Tuesday night because she will miss us!

This one features lots of washi tape- lots of gesso and stamping and a lovely die cut of the hearts that i cut from my cameo, lots of old rub ons and muslin, lace and tags- a bit of everything!

and some close ups

some texture and interest in small cluster
Would love to hear your comments- will be back soon to share some more work from Prima and the Stationers Desk.

Thanks for stopping by

a Beautiful Perfect Day

Hi Folks,

Just wanting to share one of the layouts that i did at the Autumn retreat a few weeks back.

This one features me and my  youngest sister who had popped over from Perth to visit. Unfortunately i only saw her for 24 hours as she spent most of her time up in Nelson catching up with friends and family. It was lovely to see her after 18 months or so and to meet her partner finally!

We went out for a lovely meal just the two of us and had a great night together catching up on all her news from Perth! Luckily she will be back in November for my other sisters wedding so there will be more time to spend together next time!

This one features some of the gorgeous Marion Smith range from last year called Romance Novel. She is desigining some beautiful ranges over the last year or so - but has been so popular that much has sold out before it hits NZ!

I loved all the chances for fussy cutting with this range and also all the envelopes that you could make from her range too- i did all my journalling in the envelope so it was tucked away! Some lovely chipboard and some flowers and it was all done!

whoops my twine come undone!
Thanks for visiting and will back soon with more to share

Scrappin Patch Retreat and a beautiful Canvas

Hi folks,

Just wanted to quickly share a beautiful class that i  did at the recent Scrappin Patch retreat . This was taught by the awesomely talented Megan Gourlay. A 12 by 12 canvas that featured texture pasting and stamping and beautiful Marion Smith papers and of course Prima flowers! We were able to keep the stencil and the stamp from the class for future use which was great too!

Love the colours on this one! And nice to scrap a photo of hubby and me too! This one was taken at my 40th back in October.

And some close ups

some lovely dies and fussy cutting

The retreat was fabulous fun and this time we had 4 days instead of three which meant that it was a great social occasion and we heaps of time to relax and socialise as well as scrap and do classes. The next one rolls around in Sept so that will be here before i know it!

Here is a photo of the retreat ladies - a huge 50 plus ladies made it this time - the largest group we have ever had!

And some of my best scrappin buddies - we usually meet on a Wednesday night to catch up and tomorrow we are off on a roadtrip to Timaru to visit ArtFull Crafts for their monthly crop day. Can;t wait to get into it again i have done nothing at all since retreat! Notice me and Megan still in our slippers !

I had a great time experimenting a little and my stamps got a real work out this retreat. Stamping is not something that i have really embraced but just about every layout i did featured stamping gesso this time! Can't wait to show you some of my layouts as they are a little different to my normal style!

Well had better get organised for this crop day tomorrow - back soon with some Stationers Desk from Prima and lots of stamping!
